MBE stands for Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, and Adele — along with P.J. Harvey — received the honor on Thursday (December 19) for "services to music." It was created in 1917 by King George V."It was an honour to be recognised and a very proud moment to be awarded alongside such wonderful and inspirational people," Adele said in a statement after the ceremony, according to People.
